Josephine Frate

JOSEPHINE M. FRATE, age 81, (nee Marino), loving mother of Charles John (wife Pamela) and John Anthony Jr.; devoted grandmother of Melanie, Melissa and Chuckie (wife Lydia) and great-grandmother of Giovanni; cherished daughter of the late Charles and Mary (nee Purpera) Marino; dearest sister of Peter Marino; former wife of the late John Frate: dear aunt and cousin of many. 

Josephine was born on February 15, 1943 and passed away on July 14, 2024. She was a 1961 graduate of Brush High School. She took pride in being a homemaker and loved to bake and cook. She was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Elvis, Neil Diamond and of country music. Her loving family will always remember her for her devotion to them. She was quiet, reserved and strong-willed. She will deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Josephine’s memory to Hospice of the Western Reserve, P.O.Box 72101, Cleveland, OH 44192. 

In honoring Josephine’s wishes, she will be cremated by DeJohn Crematory. Private services will be held at Knollwood Cemetery at a later date.
