JOSEPH M. DELISA age 82, beloved husband for 59 years of Carolyn (nee Sopchick); loving father of Lynn Rosacco (husband Vince) and Matthew DeLisa; devoted grandfather of Nicholas, Daniel and Louis DeLisa and Michael Rosacco; cherished son of the late Nicholas and Helen (nee Ference); dearest brother of Jack (wife Joan deceased), Bill (wife Lois), Janet Smith (husband Jeff) and Joan DiPaolo (husband Tony); dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran. Joe worked at the Federal Reserve Bank for 35 years and as a part-time fireman for the City of Wickliffe for 27 years.
Joe was Born on January 31, 1939 in Windber, Pennsylvania to Nicholas and Helen DeLisa. He attended and graduated from Windber High School. He went on to proudly serve his country and was a US Army Veteran. He has lived in Wickliffe for the past 54 years where he was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. Joe retired after working 35 years for the Federal Reserve Bank. He also served as a part-time fire fighter to the City of Wickliffe. Additionally, he served as a part-time bus driver for Laketran. When he wasn’t working Joe could be found at a Collinwood Memories event, the Wickliffe Senior Center and Wickliffe Italian & American Club.
Joe was dedicated to his family. He loved spending time with them and his friends, especially playing cards. If he wasn’t doing yardwork he was faithfully following the Indians and the Browns.
Joe was quick to smile and was naturally sociable, warm and friendly. His sense of humor made him memorable to many, because he could make anyone laugh. Joe is remembered as someone who was always kind and gave back to those that needed encouragement and a helping hand. Joe’ s genuine personality, kind spirit, strong presence, and faithfulness to his faith is what his family and friends will remember about him most. He will be truly missed.

Carmel, 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH 44092. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, June 4, 2021 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH 44092 at 10 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joe at the church FRIDAY MORNING 9 -10 AM.
