Joseph Steed

Joseph Robert Steed, Jr., 81, passed away suddenly April 12, 2015 at University Hospitals of Cleveland.

Joseph was born in Euclid, Ohio, January 3, 1934 to the late Joseph R. Sr. and Helen (nee Rich) Steed.  He was educated in the Euclid Schools. Joseph lived in Thompson, Montville, Hartsgrove and Briar Hill Health Care Residence for the past 3 years.   He retired from Chardon Rubber before going to work at Giant Eagle. He was an avid gardener.

Joseph was married for 51 years to Margaret “Peggy” (nee Patrick) Steed, who preceded him in death in 2008.  He is survived by his sons Joseph R., III (Lisa Williams) Steed of Akron, and Michael P. (Editha) Steed of Japan; grandchildren, Paul (Emily Machak) Steed, Joseph R. Steed, IV and Tim (Kailie) Steed; great grandchild Cypress; a sister Sally (Frank) Brundula; and many nieces and nephews.

Prayers of Christian Burial Thursday, April 16, 2015 at 3PM at the Funeral Home. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory following the service. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joseph at the DeJohn Funeral Home and Crematory of Chardon, (formerly Ritondaro), 126 South St (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square)  THURSDAY 2 – 3 pm.
