Joseph Petric

JOSEPH FRANK GASPAR PETRIC age 77, cherished son of the late Joseph Louis and Mary Frances (nee Mlakar); dearest brother of Jo Ann Petric; dear cousin of Paula, Debra, Laura, Allen, Gregory, Robert, Leigh-Ann, David and Leslie.

Joe was born on October 8, 1943 in Cleveland and passed from this existence on April 14, 2021. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1962 and attended the Cooper School of Art. Joe was a kind-hearted individual who loved participating in Church activities and all things Slovenian. He would artistically express himself anytime opportunity appeared. Former parishioners of St. Christine in Euclid may recall his Christmas and Easter decorating extravaganzas, for almost four decades. Joe was a member of St. Christine Catholic Church, St. Vitus Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. He’d lend his talents to almost any Slovenian celebrations. It was his labor of love. Joe was a former member of Slovan’s Men’s Chorus and Zarja Singing Society. He was a former president and honored Man of the Year from Slovenian Society Home in Euclid. He was also the former president of the Federation of Slovenian Homes and their 1999 Man of the Year.  Joe was originally employed by Zagar Tool- Machine and then went on to work at TRW in the Valves Division. Before retiring, Joe served as officer of the American Mutual Life Association as Secretary/ Treasurer. He loved food, watching the Food Channel, decorating and gardening. Joe will be remembered most as an easy-going, helpful, giving, generous, devoted and faithful man. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joe to St. Vitus Church Building Fund. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 11 AM at St. Vitus Catholic Church, 6019 Lausche Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery.
