JOSEPH FRANCIS PARATORE, age 84, passed away July 25, 2015 in Jupiter, FL. Beloved husband for 61 years to Sally Noreen (nee Lindenmuth); loving father of Toni Lynn Knowles, Roseann Erminio (John), Joseph (Josette), Christine Klotzbier (Richard) and Mark (Monica); devoted grandfather of Anthony Erminio (Courtney), Joey, John Ryan Erminio, Jamie, Christen Williams (Robert), Mark and Alyssa Paratore , Curtis Knowles and great-grandfather to Anthony, Paul, Connor and Lyla; treasured son of the late Sebastian and Rose (nee Calabrese); cherished brother of Frank (Louise), John (Madeline), Carol White (Richard) and the late Leo (Anna); dearest brother-in-law to the late Ree Dean; dear uncle, great-uncle and great friend of many.
Joseph was born March 9, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio. A devout catholic and the son of the late Sebastian and Rose Paratore. Joseph graduated Cathedral Latin High School in 1949 and attended John Carroll University until he was drafted in the Korean War. He served his country proudly in the Army during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 where he held the position of Medical Records Clerk. Joseph married Sally in May of 1954 and were happily married for 61 years. Together they had five wonderful children. Joseph joined his Dad’s Construction Company as a carpenter/estimator and later as President where he worked side by side with all of his siblings for 30 years. Joseph volunteered his time and later became Grand Commander of the Carmona Caravan No. 75 of Alhambra, Inc., a non-profit, catholic organization assisting the mentally handicapped. After retiring from the family business, Joseph and his wife moved to Florida where he joined R& L Painting Company as a commercial estimator. He worked in this capacity until June of 2015 where he retired to take care of his wife, Sally. In his spare time, Joseph enjoyed the beach, his love of cooking, traveling to Italy, watching Ohio State Football and spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather and a loyal friend to many.

Relatives and friends are invited to meet for the Mass of Christian Burial Monday, August 3, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd, Gates Mills, OH 44040. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joe at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 2 – 6 PM.
