Joseph A. Miller age 93, beloved husband of the late Mary J. (nee Koracin); loving father of Joseph (wife Patricia), David, Anne Shrum (husband Jerry deceased), Mary Lynn Dielman (husband Jay), and Patricia Long (husband Lonnie) ; devoted grandfather of Julie Wooten (husband Buddy), Christina Neal (husband Jason), Kelly Stovall (husband Jodie), Joseph Miller (wife Meagan), Lonnie Long, Michael Dielman, Amanda Dielman, Dylan Long, Nicholas Dielman and great-grandfather of Tyler, Rylee, Liam, Lily, Jase; cherished son of the late Joseph and  Mata (nee Heller); dearest of  brother of the late Edna DeFrank, Viola Berus, Arnold Miller, June Morosko, Melvin Miller, and  Delores Akins; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Korean Conflict Veteran and Purple Heart recipient.

Joe was born May 5, 1928 and died peacefully May 23rd, 2021. He lived in Madison since 2004 where he often frequented the Madison Senior Center for lunch. He then spent a period of time in Florida before his death.  Joseph was a member of Calvary Assembly of God since being saved on Father’s day of 1967. He  centered his life around his family, the Lord and church fellowship.

Joseph attended Collinwood high school and proudly served his country. After 70 years, he was finally awarded his Purple Heart that he earned while fighting in the Korean Conflict. He began his career at General Electric in 1956 until he retired in 1988. In his free time he enjoyed home projects, going to the YMCA and listening to old fashion Christian music. Family get togethers and spending time with his loved ones over the holidays gave him the greatest joy. He was dedicated to his wife, kids and grandkids. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father, only having a greater love for the Lord.

Contributions may be made in memory of Joe to Calvary Assembly of God Church, 28870 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills OH, 44092. Celebration of life Friday, May 28th, 2021 at Calvary Assembly of God Church at 10:00 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at Whitehaven Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joe at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 4-8 PM and at THE CHURCH FRIDAY MORNING 9:30-10:00 AM.
