Joe was born September 20th, 1960 in Cleveland, Ohio and died peacefully after a brief illness on March 7, 2024. He lived many years in Cleveland Heights before moving to Mayfield Village, spending his last 20+ years living in Chesterland. His faith was important to him. Joe served as an altar boy at St. Margaret Mary Church, graduated from St. Ignatius High School and attended the University of Dayton. He eventually graduated from Colorado Technical University after taking classes at Cleveland State University. Joe also had a special devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine. He had an expansive career, studying engineering, working in Compliance at Continental Airlines for 15 years, and spent his last 5 years working at Amazon. Yet his real passion and majority of his career was as a chef for several restaurants, including J. Pistone Market and Gathering Place in Shaker Heights. Joe was requested by many in Cleveland for their parties and events. His love of cooking and baking was evident.
Joe enjoyed gardening and landscaping, attending concerts, and had a wide range of favorite music genres. Joe was always handy and could fix anything. He enjoyed traveling, was a wine connoisseur, and was a huge sports fan especially of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Joe also found joy in reading, especially mystery books, and his favorite book he loved to share was The Four Agreements. His daughters truly gave him the greatest joy throughout his life. His favorite holiday was Christmas with his tradition of cutting down the tree each year and his love of bubble lights and the movie It's a Wonderful Life. As a child he always enjoyed trips to the family cottage at Canandaigua Lake and Traverse City.
Joe is remembered by his family as very intellectual, funny, witty, loving and fun-loving, loyal, and a true caretaker. He would help anyone at any time. Joe had the biggest smile and always very expressive. He will be deeply missed by many family and friends that will cherish his memory and all the stories they will continue to share.
