Joseph Grassy

JOSEPH GRASSY, age 85; beloved husband for 51 years of Catherine (nee Ward); loving father of Joseph, Jr and Carol Gilbert (husband Ralph); dearest brother of Bela (deceased) and Mary Dorner and brother-in-law of Robert, William, Larry and Carlos Ward and Barbara Vira; dear uncle to many nieces and nephews with special thanks going to Marian Simonson and Vera Seltzer for their devoted attention. Joe was a dear member of the Ward family for over 50 years and very much appreciated their love and caring. Many thanks to all of them especially his sister-in-law Barbara Vira who never failed to be his special friend.

Joe enjoyed sailing and sking since childhood and taught sking for nearly 20 years at Brandywine Ski Resort. He was a machinist at Reliance Electric for 50 years. Joe was an avid reader and loved music, especially classical. His family remembers him as a wonderful husband, father and friend who loved to have fun and bring pleasure to others.

Contributions may be made in Joe’s memory to Cleveland Clinic Hospice. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 6:30 PM at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.). Cremation following by DeJohn Crematory. The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Joe at the FUNERAL HOME on TUESDAY from 4:00 to 6:30 PM.
