JOSEPH J. “JAY” DUCA, age 90; beloved husband for 50 years of Loretta (nee Bystry); loving father of Dana (wife Stephanie) of Chesterland and the late Darryl; devoted grandfather of Joseph R. and Steven W.; dearest brother of Angeline Ferrato (husband Chester, deceased), Mary Hudak (husband Joseph), Margaret Rice (husband Gene) and the late Frank (wife Alice, deceased), Nick, Kate Meden (husband Frank, deceased), Nancy Pastor and Anthony; dear brother-in-law of Kay and David Richards and the late Bert and Andy Becar and Andy Bystry (wife Mary Frances); cherished uncle and great-uncle of many.
Jay was a Lyndhurst resident for 47 years after moving from Mayfield Heights. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Parish. Born August 12, 1923 in Beaverdale, PA, Jay graduated from high school and college in Pennsylvania and then worked as a Production Control Manager in manufacturing. He enjoyed watching football, baseball, playing golf, traveling and camping in his RV and spending time with this family. He passed away May 20, 2014 in Chardon and will be fondly remembered as a compassionate, fun loving, family-oriented man with a great sense of humor.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 11 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jay at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) FRIDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
