JOHN J. ZABLOTNEY age 92, beloved husband for 69 years of Mary (nee Yuchnik); loving father of  David (wife Kathleen), Barbara Zientek and Michael; devoted grandfather of John, Daniel and Joseph Zablotney, Caitlin Cascio, Christopher and the late Kevin Zientek and great-grandfather of five; cherished son of the late Stanley and Ann (nee Percherke); dearest brother of Stanley (wife Betty, deceased), Donald, George (wife Leeann), Florence Pluta (husband George) and the late Edward and Frank; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. U.S. Army Veteran.

John was born in Jennerstown, Pennsylvania on November 21, 1927 and passed away on October 9, 2020. He was a resident of South Euclid for 55 years, previously of Cleveland. John was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of American Legion Post 343 in Euclid. He worked as a machinist for National Acme Corporation, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels for over 11 years. John was quite the handyman and he loved to build things. His other hobbies included bowling and listening to polkas. John traveled to 49 states, and also enjoyed ocean cruising and vacations with the kids. John was sociable and friendly, and he loved a good laugh with his family and friends. He was also a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and he will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of John to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish at 11 AM. Burial following with Military Honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 4-8 PM.
