John Slavec

JOHN SLAVEC age 91, beloved husband for 56 years of Ludmila “Mili” (nee Vidmar); loving father of John P. (wife Sharie), Ann, Theresa Zilavec (husband Rudy), and Joseph; devoted grandfather of Olivia, Julia, Steven, Rachelle, Thomas, and twins Nadia and Georgia; preceded in death by 3 brothers and 3 sisters; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.

John was born on June 4, 1927 and passed away on October 2, 2018. He moved from Slovenia to Canada in 1949, then to Minnesota in 1962. He has been a resident of Euclid for 24 years. John also belonged to the Primorski Club. He attended school in Slovenia but proudly worked as a Millwright in Minnesota for White Motors Co. In his free time, John liked to play bocce ball, dance, and listen to Polka music. He was a very handy man and could build or fix anything. John was fun loving, hardworking, a devoted husband and father. He was generous, giving of his time, and friendly. John will be dearly missed by all.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 10 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, 15519 Holmes Ave., Cleveland, Ohio. Cremation following by DeJOHN CREMATORY. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) FRIDAY 4-8 PM.
