John Saunders

JOHN D. SAUNDERS age 78, beloved husband for 56 years of Joan (nee Taylor); loving father of Kendra Schwiemann (husband William) and John D. Jr. (wife Adria); devoted Papa of Brandy Horlacher, William Schwiemann IV and Xavier; cherished son of the late John W. and Frances (nee Ebert).

John was born on August 26, 1937 in Cleveland, OH and passed away July 13, 2016.  John was a resident of Chagrin Falls, previously residing in Lyndhurst.  He graduated from Lakewood High School in 1955 and received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Kent State University in 1960.  John was a chemist for Lubrizol, retiring after more than 40 years.  He enjoyed photography and painting. He was an amateur artist and a professional Papa.  In addition to spending time with his family, John loved to cook and travel and especially enjoyed walking the beach at Chautauqua.  He was loving, intelligent, personable and sincere – a best friend to many.  John will be remembered for his caring and giving nature.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 4 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Private burial at Brooklyn Hts Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) SUNDAY 1-4 PM.
