John Sabetta

JOHN N. SABETTA age 75, beloved husband for 43 years of Ginger (nee Keltner); loving father of William (wife Karen Mastrangelo), John, and Robert; devoted grandfather of Gabriella and Gianna; cherished son of the late Sue (nee Fratantino) and Billy Sabetta; dearest brother of Sandie Benedict (husband Rick, deceased); dear uncle of Alisa O’Brien (husband Jeff) and Ricky Benedict; dear cousin and friend of many; survived by his canine companion Winston.  

John was born on November 30, 1948, in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away peacefully at home on February 20, 2024. He was born and raised in Little Italy and had resided in Lyndhurst for over 40 years. John was a 1967 graduate of St Joseph High School. He married his beloved Ginger, and they had three wonderful children. John found his second career as a Public Information Specialist for the Shaker Heights Police Department, where he still was working. John loved people and being social was his hobby. He was a fan of Frank Sinatra or any Italian music. He loved the Feast in Little Italy and Sunday dinners. John was one-of-a-kind. Spending time with family and friends brought him the greatest joy in life. He was unique, funny, witty and charming. He loved the people he worked with and everyone loved him. He will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him. 

Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 12021 Mayfield Rd, Cleveland at 10 AM. Burial following at Lake View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 2-4 and 5-8 PM.
