John Rash

JOHN RASH age 87, of Willoughby Hills, Ohio entered eternal life Monday, February 20, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace (nee Shienkaruk); loving father of Nancy Fellows (husband Dale), Sharon Danko, and Nicholas (wife Sandra); devoted grandfather of Aaron J. Brookhart (deceased), Adam Danko (fiancée Maura Leary), Eric Danko, Nichole Rash, Erik Fellows (wife Katie) and James Cute (wife Robyn); cherished son of the late Nicholas and Anna (nee Bakos) Rash; dearest brother of Catherine Kriz (husband Edward, deceased), Anna Potoma (husband Edward, deceased), and Mary Ann Balas (husband George); dear uncle and great-uncle to many loved nieces and nephews.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, John was a resident of Willoughby Hills for 17 years. He graduated from East Tech High School and attended Fenn College. John was a loyal employee of Kiffer Industries for 39 years.  He was a member of the VFW Post 2533 and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 740. Over the last 20 years of retirement John enjoyed traveling, attending events with his grandchildren and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, playing cards, fishing and watching football. John will be remembered most as a kind and gentle man who was a great teacher. He will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of John to Aaron J. Brookhart ’97 Endowment Fund, St. Ignatius High School, 1911 West 30^th, Cleveland, OH 44113. Mass of Christian Burial in memory of John on Monday, February 27, 2017 at St. Noel Catholic Church 35200 Chardon Rd., Willoughby Hills at 10 AM. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Private burial will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE CHURCH MONDAY MORNING 9-10 AM.
