JOHN F. MADACHY, age 87, beloved father of Christina Keil (husband Kevin) of TX and Joseph (wife Dolly) of Concord, loving grandfather of Jason (deceased), Daniel Keil (Michele), Jeffrey, Sean Keil (Hilary), Matthew Keil and great-grandfather of Willow Keil, dearest brother of the late Joseph, former husband of Mary Madachy (nee Strazek), dear uncle and great uncle of many.  Contributions may be made in John’s memory to Catholic Charities, 7911 Detroit Ave., Cleveland, OH 44102; Sisters of Notre Dame, 13000 Auburn Road, Chardon, OH 44024 or Jason Madachy Foundation, 12231 Girdled Rd., Concord, OH 44077.

John was a resident of Mayfield Heights since 1969, previously living in Euclid. He was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church since 1969. John was a U.S. Army Veteran. He attended West Tech High School and graduated from Case (CWRU) with an Engineering Degree leading to a career in Engineering.

John loved traveling, singing in a barbershop quartet, playing cards, horse racing and writing children’s stories. His family remembers him as being a most Christian person who was giving, helpful, hard-working, and also possessing a very dry sense of humor and very good imagination

Celebration of Life Service Monday, June 1, 2015 at the funeral home at 10 AM. Private burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY MAY 31, 2015 FROM 2-6 PM.
