JOHN A. LUCAS age 83, beloved husband for 57 years of Joan (nee Beecham); loving father of Jacqueline Hardman (husband Thomas) and Clive (wife Christy); devoted grandfather of Rebecca, David, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jessica, and Johnathan; cherished son of the late Thomas Francis and Lucy Gwendoline (nee Trueman); dearest brother of Linda Yates (husband John) of Sutton Coldfield, England; treasured brother-in-law of David and Jessie Beecham; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
John was born on April 3, 1935 in Birmingham England and passed away on May 18, 2018. John came to the United States in 1975 from Stourbridge England. He is was a resident of Newbury since 1993 and previous of Solon, and Hilltown Pennsylvania. John was a member of Fellowship Bible Church, prior to that, he was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Orange Village and First Baptist Church in Perkasie, Pennsylvania. John graduated from Waverley Grammar School in England and furthered his education at Leeds University in Leeds England where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in fuel technology. He proudly worked as an engineer for North America Manufacturing. John greatly enjoyed watching European soccer and walking in metro parks in his free time. He was an avid reader and history buff. John loved serving in the church. He was extremely loving, a true gentleman, kind, patient, generous and had quick wit with a dry sense of humor. John was devoted to his family with a strong faith in God. He will be dearly missed by all.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2 PM at Fellowship Bible Church, 16391 Chillicothe Rd, Chagrin Falls, OH 44023. Burial following at Newbury Center Cemetery. Family will receive friends at THE CHURCH THURSDAY 1-2 PM. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND.
