John L. Dickard

JOHN L. DICKARD, 92, of Euclid, Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday,  April 1, 2020 with his loving wife at his side. Born September 21, 1927 in Cleveland,  Mr. Dickard was a proud alum of Cathedral Latin School and an army veteran. In 1962, he earned the highest score in Ohio on the CPA exam.   He retired from Ferro Corporation as General Manager International.  Jack was known for his bright smile, spirit and warmth.  His travels took him all over the world, from pyramids to rainforests, from the Great Wall of China to the African savannah. At home, he always appreciated a beautiful Lake Erie sunset. He enjoyed an active lifestyle of swimming, gardening, cooking and spending quality time with the people he loved.

He is survived by his wife, Eva B.; his daughters, Colleen Schroeder (Nick) and Christine Jankowski (Michael), and stepdaughter, Belinda Payne (Jeffrey); grandchildren, Michael and Christopher Schroeder, Kara, Elizabeth and Mark Jankowski, Alexandra, Mitchell and Jackson Brown, and Jennifer Payne.  He also leaves behind siblings, Jean Dowd and Al Dickard (Clara); sister-in-law, Lois Dickard; cousin, Sally Rastatter and many nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dolores; parents, Albert and Margaret Dickard; siblings, Patricia O’Donnell, Fay O’Hare, and James Dickard.

A private service for the immediate family was held on Saturday, April 4, 2020 with interment at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
