Mass of Christian Burial for John A. Krayka, 78, will be on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 10:00 AM at The Church of St. Mary, 401 North Street, Chardon. Mr. Krayka died on Saturday at University Hospital in Cleveland. He was a 44-year resident of Hambden Township.
John worked as a Technical Instructor at Bailey Control (ABB) for many years. He earned his Masters in Business Administration from Baldwin Wallace University. His passions were skiing, fishing, gardening, NASCAR, and working on his 1948 Ford. He enjoyed listening to talk radio, tinkering with computers and one time built his own Television using different parts. John enjoyed spending time with his family, teaching them all to ski, and camping and traveling. His family describes him as determined, mild mannered and with a dry sense of humor. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years Barbara (nee Lober). children John A. II, Richard, Kathryn (Thomas) Mohan of CO, and Robert (Amy); grandchildren Riley, MacKenzie and Andrew Mohan and Isabella, Natalie and Olivia Krayka; he was the brother-in-law of Mary and John Stanton.
Mr. Krayka was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Stella (nee Tokarz) Krayka.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) Wednesday 5-8 PM.
