John J. Dloniak

“Funeral Divine Services for John J. “Big John” Dloniak, age 18 of Mentor, will begin on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 9 AM at The DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Rd. (between Bishop and Rt. 91) and continue at 10 AM at Holy Transfiguration Byzantine Catholic Parish at St. Andrew Church 5768 Andrews Rd., Mentor-on-the-Lake, 44060.

John died suddenly Monday July 5, 2010 at Lake West Hospital.

He was born on June 12, 1992 in Euclid. John was a long-time resident of Kirtland and Mentor and currently attended Mentor High School and previously the Kirtland schools. He loved playing all sports, especially football, wrestling, and rugby. John was active in his church as an Altar Server and in the youth group. He is described as a gentle-giant, with a big heart that filled his big frame, always making others feel better and especially known for his huge “squeezing hugs”.

John is survived by his parents George of Mentor and Jennifer of Westlake; siblings Beth of Madison and Richard of Mentor; aunts & uncles Phyllis of Painesville, Lois (Bryan) Metz of FL, and Peter of Painesville; cousin Tiffany Williams; and special friends the Carlson family, the Shick family, and Katie Schultz and many other dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Richard and Mary Ellen Dloniak.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of “Big John” on Thursday from 6:00-9:00 P.M. and Friday from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-9:00 P.M, at DeJohn Funeral Home. Parastas Friday at 7:30 PM. The Very Rev. Dr. Bryan R. Eyman will officiate services.

Burial will be in All Souls Cemetery in Chardon Twp.
