JOHN GEORGE FERRATO age 90, passed away Monday, November 13, 2017 at Heather Hill Nursing Home in Chardon from natural causes. He was the loving father of Diane Jewell (husband Ted) and John (wife Christine); devoted grandfather of 5 and great-grandfather of 5; preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
John was born on November 13, 1927 in Wellsville, Ohio and was a resident of Chardon for 38 years, formerly of Cleveland. He graduated from John Adams High School where he was a pitcher and holds the strike out record. John was a mechanical engineer and the owner/operator of Supreme Fixtures Fabricating. He loved fishing, golf and was a clock maker. John loved the Browns and going to the casino where he played the slot machine. He will be remembered most as a mild-mannered, funny, humorous and witty man who loved to tell stories. John was likeable, friendly and had a big heart. He will be dearly missed. John was a wonderful human being who was loved by many.
Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service Thursday, November 16, 2017 at 7 PM at THE FUNERAL HOME. Private burial at Maple View Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of John at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF CHARDON (formerly Ritondaro) 126 South St. (Rt. 44, south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square) THURSDAY 4-7 PM.
