John F. Capretta

JOHN F. CAPRETTA age 76, beloved husband for 56 years of Betty Ann (nee Morocco); loving father of John (wife Maria) and Jolie Patriarco (husband Bob); devoted grandfather of Nick, Joe and Gina Capretta, Sam and Mia Patriarco and Luke Schoefield; cherished son of  the late Fred and Erma (nee Catullo); dearest brother of Domenic (wife Emily, deceased), Fred (wife Donna) and Rick (wife Debbie) and brother-in-law of Rosemary Grenig, Sue Langfellow (husband Wally) and the late Carm Di Barto; dear uncle and great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.

John was born on October 15, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio. He grew up in South Euclid and graduated from Brush High School in 1965. He has lived in Aurora for the last 18 years. After graduating high school, John attended Tri-C where he earned an associate degree and has worked as a sales executive. John was an avid sports fan but his favorite team was the NY Yankees. He enjoyed listening to the Rolling Stones, Elvis, Rat Pak and Motown. His greatest joy was his family. John can be described as a sociable, friendly and loyal man with a great sense of humor as he loved to tell jokes and had a quick wit about him. He was also extremely devoted to his family and to his faith. Sadly, John passed away on December 13, 2023, surround by his loving family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of John to St. Jude Children Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Relatives and friends are requested to meet for a Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Holy Angels Catholic Church, 18205 Chillicothe Rd., Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023 at 11 AM. Family will receive friends immediately after Mass in the reception hall at the church. A Private Burial will take place at a later date. Cremation and Arrangements entrusted to THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd).
