Joan Johnson

JOAN L. JOHNSON (nee Anderson) age 88, beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Holli Hoffman (husband Michael) and Thomas (wife Britt); devoted grandmother of Joalien Johnson, Brittany and Timothy Hoffman, Neil and Matthew Johnson; cherished daughter of the late George and Mary (nee Sullivan) Anderson; dearest sister of the late Jean McKinney and Carol Graham; dear aunt and great aunt of many.

Joan was born on December 12, 1928 in Waterbury, Connecticut, moved to Cleveland in the early 1950s and passed away on August 7, 2017. She was a longtime resident of Willowick and lived the last 3 years in Chagrin Falls. Joan was a founding member of Bethany Covenant Church in Lyndhurst. She was a store manager for Lerner Clothing Store in Willowick. Joan loved volunteering at her church and at Shoregate Elementary School in Willowick. She also loved arts and crafts, cross stitch, cooking and sports activities. She will be dearly missed.

Contributions may be made in memory of Joan to Camp Mission Meadows 5201 East Lake Road, Dewittville, NY 14728. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Celebration of Life Service in memory of Joan will take place on Sunday, October 15 at 2PM at Bethany Covenant Church 5120 Ridgebury Blvd, Lyndhurst, OH 44124.
