Jewell Gay Klauga

March 6, 1943 — March 6, 2025

JEWELL GAY KLAUGA, age 82, loving mother of Denise Krulc (Stan Jr.) and Steven Ault; devoted grandmother of Kathryn Zitko (Frank), Stanley Krulc III, Matthew Krulc, Ashley Ault and Nicholas Ault; cherished daughter of the late Peter Sr. and Helen (nee Gouldner); dearest sister of Darlene Winebrenner (Charlie), Carl Klauga, and the late Susan Mancuso Pena and Peter Klauga Jr.; dear aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews that she adored.

Jewell G. Klauga was born on March 6, 1943, to Helen and Peter Klauga Sr. in Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Euclid Senior High School and graduated in the Class of 1961. The proudest moments of her life were the births of her children, Denise and Steven. She was a devoted, kind, and loving mother to both. She was also a devout Catholic and believed strongly in her faith. Jesus Christ was her Lord and Savior, and she believed that she would join Him in heaven to spend eternity glorifying and praising God.

Jewell worked as a nurse at multiple hospitals in the Cleveland area, but her favorite was Huron Road Hospital, where she worked for many years and made many friends. She enjoyed her time in the surgical room and was proud of her academic achievements in nursing and medication. Most of all, she enjoyed using her skills to help others. Jewell loved reminiscing about her younger days and telling stories. She was an avid dancer, with a passion for the jitterbug, and enjoyed all kinds of music - something she passed down to her children and grandchildren. She could sew anything without a pattern and created beautiful flower arrangements.

She loved Cleveland sports, often referring to the Cleveland Indians as "her boys". When the game wasn't on, she loved watching Westerns (like father, like daughter), crime shows on TV, completing word searches, and playing cards with her grandchildren. Jewell loved animals and almost always had a dog or cat keeping her company at home. Her family and friends meant everything to her. She was so proud of and cherished her close relationships with nieces, nephews, and their children. For all her life, she prioritized God and family before herself and was always willing to help anyone she could. Jewell was peacefully called home to God on March 6, 2025, on her birthday, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and caring for loved ones. She will be dearly missed by all who love her.
