Jesse W. Shaffer

JESSE W. SHAFFER, aged 84 years, beloved husband for 65 years to the late Alyne (nee Gardner), dear father of Larry W. (partner Joe Smith), Gary L. (wife Cynthia), Tim (wife Vicki) and Cheryl Szczepanski, loving grandfather of 6 and great-grandfather of 1, fond brother of the late Gaylord, Gaythor and Harold.

Jesse was a resident of Rocky River. He passed away on January 19, 2014 at St. John West Shore Hospital. He was born on March 12, 1929 in McDermott, Ohio. He was a long-time resident of the Vermilion – Amherst area. He was a 30 year employee of Ford Motor – Lorain Assembly Plant, retiring in 1991. He was devoted to his late wife, his children and grandchildren. He was an excellent carpenter, building his first house as a wedding gift to his wife. He was very well versed in the trades, enjoyed golf, and was an excellent bowler.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Kipton Community Church at 1:00 PM. Rev. Lee Stull and Rev. Charles Livermore will officiate. The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Jesse in the church hall immediately following the services.
