JEROME J. “Jerry” ZAVADIL, age 80; beloved husband for 54 years of the late Mary Ann (nee Gessic); loving father of Mary Ellen Macuski (husband John), Michael (wife Jacqueline), Robert (wife Margaret), Janet Suppel (husband John) and Donald (wife Kathryn); devoted grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of two; dearest son of the late Frances (nee Zabinski) and Jerry; dear brother of the late Loretta Migon.
Jerome was a resident at Homewood in Richmond Heights for the past year, previously he lived in Highland Heights and Mayfield Heights. Jerry was a parishioner at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church where he played in the parish softball league. Jerry graduated from St. Ignatius High School in Chicago and from John Carroll University. He worked as the Comptroller for Baldwin-Wallace College. Jerry was a member of the Knights of Columbus Gilmour Council #310 and previously served on the Mayfield and Highland Heights Planning and Zoning Commission. Jerry loved Elvis’ music, being a baseball umpire, going to casinos and playing softball. He received the most enjoyment from his five children, sports, and red wine. Jerry loved having his family around and especially loved Sunday dinners. He will be remembered most as an easy going and stoic man of few words. Jerry’s children fondly remember him telling them time and again, “Don’t let your Mother see that.”

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, February 13, 2015 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jerry at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
