JEROME N. “JERRY” SHAVEYCO age 89, beloved husband for 60 years of Dolores “Debbie”  (nee Bailey); loving father of Mary Thomas, Jane and the late Ann; cherished son of the late Michael and Nellie (nee Gozdinsky); dearest brother of the late Genevieve Porter; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many.

Jerome N. “Jerry” Shaveyco was born on July 24, 1930 in Cleveland, OH and passed away peacefully on June 6, 2020. He was a resident of South Euclid since 1962 and prior to that Gates Mills. Jerry was a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, American Society of Appraisers, American Right of Way Association, Quiet Birdman Pilots Club, Lambda Chi Alpha at Ohio University and was a US Navy Veteran during the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Cathedral Latin in 1948 and from Ohio University in 1952. Jerry worked as the Chief Land Deputy at Cuyahoga County Engineers Office and after his retirement he learned how to use computers and shared his knowledge with many seniors at Fairhill Center as well. He loved to fly, tend to his yard, enjoy his pool, tinker with projects around the house and was a Cleveland Browns and Indians fan. Jerry enjoyed big band music, travel to Florida in the winter to enjoy the sand, the sun and the beautiful ocean and took fall trips to other destinations. He was a loyal friend, good neighbor, jokester who loved socializing and was dedicated to his family and home. He will be dearly missed.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 15, 2020 at 11 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. PRIVATE Burial following with Military Honors at Lake View Cemetery. Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS.
