JEROME V. “J.R.” RYBAR, age 91, beloved husband of the late Naomi (nee Rhodes); loving father of Chari Susan DiFranco (Richard Piunno), and the late Russell Scott, and Lori Beth; devoted grandfather of John Jerome (wife Carrie) and Michael James DiFranco and great-grandfather of Savanna Elaine, and Evangeline Naomi; cherished son of the late John and Susan (nee Hlavac); preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters; loving companion of Sophia MacVeigh and her three children, Jimmy, Colleen and Danny; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. U.S. Navy Veteran.
J.R. was born on June 3, 1925 and passed away on September 8, 2016. He had been a resident of South Euclid since 1959 previously residing in Cleveland. J.R. worked as a supervisor for the RTA and retired after 35 years. He also worked for the Beachwood school system for 10 years. J.R. enjoyed coaching baseball for both boys and girls. He was a die-hard Indians fan. He liked big band music, the Rat Pack, and dancing. His friends and family would describe him as hardworking, very giving and generous with a big heart. J.R. was a loving father and he was more like a father to his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
Celebration of Life Service Tuesday September 13, 2016 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial following with Military Honors at Whitehaven Memorial Park Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of J.R. at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) MONDAY 5-8 PM.
