Jerome Bernard Friedel

JEROME BERNARD FRIEDEL age 91, beloved husband for 67 years of the late Ann (nee Bozic); loving father of Jerome, Jr. and Deborah Bebout (husband David); devoted grandfather of Melissa (fiancé Eric Hanish), Vanessa Dipko (husband James), John (wife Brittany) and great-grandfather of Isabella, Emelia, Piper, Calvin, Andrew, Eve, Connor, Jack, and Khloe; cherished son of the late Bernard and Pauline (nee Perusek); surrogate grandfather of Angela Weakland.

Jerry was born November 5, 1929 and passed away peacefully on September 3, 2021.  He was a resident of Wickliffe for the past 66 years, and prior to that he lived in Cleveland.  Jerry was a tool and die maker at J.W. Harwood Company. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, and creating stained glass.  Jerry loved polka music and loved playing the accordion and the button box at his polka jam sessions.  He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and a member of SNPJ (Slovene National Benefit Society).  His family describes Jerry as a generous person who would do anything for anyone.  He was also a jokester, funny, social man who loved to make people laugh.  He loved children and was known to talk and quack like Donald Duck.  He will be missed by many.

Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 29850 Euclid Ave, Wickliffe, OH 44092. Burial following with military honors at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jerry at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) TUESDAY 3-7 PM.
