Jeffrey Fincun

JEFFREY D. FINCUN, beloved husband of Leslie (nee Leavenworth) for 34 years; loving father of Catherine and Elizabeth; devoted son of the late Martin and Dorothy (nee Yindrock) Fincun; cherished son-in-law of JoAnn and the late R. William Leavenworth.

Jeff was born on July 4th, 1946 in Cleveland and passed away on January 18th, 2016. He was a resident of Bainbridge Township for 25 years, formerly of University Hts., Ohio. Jeff graduated from University School in 1964. He received his B.S. in Business Administration in 1968 from Bucknell University and his J.D. in 1973 from Case Western Reserve School of Law. Jeff was admitted to the Ohio Bar in 1973 and began his practice with Burgess, Steck, Andrews and Stickney. Jeff later joined the law firm of Weston Hurd LLP. His practice focused on life, health and disability insurance law matters. For 29 years, Jeff was a trusted and respected Weston Hurd partner – skilled in the law, thoughtful in his counsel, and unfailingly amiable and collegial.

Jeff was an avid handball player. He golfed and was a former member of Shaker Heights Country Club. In his leisure time, Jeff enjoyed listening to music and reading books on American History. Jeff passed on his love for New Hampshire to his family through annual trips to Wolfeboro, NH, where he grew up enjoying summers at Camp Wyanoke. Jeff was dedicated and devoted to his family and his legal practice and will be remembered as a true gentleman.

Jeff’s service will be held at 2pm, Saturday, January 30th, 2016 at Federated Church 76 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls, OH 44022, reception to follow at the family home.
