JEANETTE EL-HINDI (nee Tohme) age 86, beloved wife for 56 years of Adib; loving mother of Pierre (wife Lena), Paul (wife Christine) and Nadine; devoted grandmother of Jordan Keller-Biehl (husband Alex), Andrew and Grace; cherished daughter of the late Ibrahim and Milia (nee Maroun) Tohme; dearest sister of Nadia Moughbghab, Marie Sahlani, Toni Tohme (wife Wadad), Amal Nahra (husband George) and the late Georgette Boustani and Afaf Charbel (husband George); dear aunt and great-aunt of many. She is also survived by her canine grand-dog Coco.
Jeanette was born on February 12, 1937, in Aitaneet, Lebanon. She worked as a pediatric nurse at American University Hospital in Beirut, until she met the love of her life Adib. She was married in 1967 and moved to the United States in 1986. Jeanette was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, praying and gardening- she had a green thumb. Many would describe her as a strong, social, outgoing person who had a great sense of humor. Jeanette was extremely devoted to her husband, children and grandchildren as well as to her faith. Jeanette will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing and loving her.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jeanette to St. Maron Church at 7800 Brookside Rd., Independence, OH 44131 or Hospice of Western Reserve. Mass of Christian Burial Friday, September 1, 2023, at St. Maron Church (Carnegie Ave.) at 10:30 AM. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jeanette at THE DeJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATIONS CENTER OF CHESTERLAND 12811 CHILLICOTHE ROAD (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) THURSDAY 4 – 8 PM. Prayers of Incense at 7 PM.
