JEAN VIHER (nee Sullivan) age 88, beloved wife of the late John P.; loving mother of Susan Rose (husband Bob) of Auburn Township, OH, John P. Jr. (wife Linda) of Idaho, Deborah A. of Mentor, OH, and Joseph M. of Phoenix, AZ; devoted grandmother of Jennifer Wardman, Melissa Rose, Carrie Morris, Lance Tranter, Tera Greene, Carly Lackaff, Rachael Parry, Ally Parry, Billy Parry, Jessie Viher, and Jake Viher and great-grandmother of 9; dearest sister of the late Marian Sullivan, Barbara Viher and Patricia Reicholf.
Jean was born on February 9, 1929 in Uniontown, Pennsylvania and passed away on July 18, 2017. She was a resident of Newbury for 5 years, previously residing in Phoenix, Arizona for 30 years and Mentor for 33 years. Jean was formerly a member of St. Mary of the Assumption and St. John Vianney Catholic Churches in Mentor. She enjoyed bible study and praying the rosary. Jean worked at May Co. and W.S. Tyler while living in Cleveland. She loved sewing especially Easter coats and dresses, as well as Barbie Doll clothes. In her younger years, Jean enjoyed roller skating, bowling, and dancing. She greatly enjoyed listening to Polka music, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, Elvis, and the Beatles. Jean was feisty, sassy, happy and always smiling and singing. She cherished spending time with her children, family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Jean was very proud of her culture – she loved celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and making Potica for her family. Jean will be dearly missed.
