Jean Sarah Suszek

Jean Sarah Suszek (nee Pawlaski), age 95, entered into the presence of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 29, 2023, while resting at home. Jean was born on February 27, 1928, in Monongah, WV, the daughter of the late Andrew and Sarah Pawlaski (nee Jamrozik).  After a two-month courtship, she married the love of her life, Henry Suszek, a skilled die maker from Idamay, WV, on June 25, 1949. After a honeymoon in Niagara Falls, they immediately moved to Ohio—Cleveland, then Willowick, and finally Richmond Heights in 1963—raising 6 children and spending 66 wonderful years together in a home filled with delicious food, laughter, and music, especially her Polish polkas. She will be remembered as being devoted to her family and her faith. 

Jean was the beloved mother of 3 daughters: Pat Schuch (husband Jon) of Brighton, MI, Barb Suszek, and Donna Paolone (husband John deceased), and 3 sons: John (wife Nancy), Ron (wife Debbie) of Greensburg, PA, and Robert (wife Kathy); loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; dear aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband Henry Suszek, her sister Helen Bright, and her brother Edward Pawlaski. 

The family will receive friends on FRIDAY, JANUARY 5, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 12 Noon, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 Noon at DeJohn-Flynn-Mylott Funeral Home of Willoughby Hills, 28890 Chardon Road. A Private Entombment will be held at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chesterland.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jean to Calvary Assembly of God, Willoughby Hills, OH, www.calvaryohio.org or Bridges Outreach, 208 N.
