JEAN M. SCHEUTZOW age 89, beloved daughter of the late Walter and Marie (nee Meier); dearest sister of Donald of Medina; cherished aunt of Craig (Elaine), Deborah Brooks (Richard) and the late Betsy Krantz; loving great-aunt of Michael Scheutzow, Jennifer Koval, Christopher Bailey, Veronica Fatica and Katie Ball and great-grand aunt of 15 nieces and nephews. Jean was born August 30, 1931 in Cleveland, OH and passed away peacefully on January 21, 2021. She was a long-time resident of Mayfield Heights. Jean graduated from the Old West Technical High School in June 1949. She earned a bachelor’s degree of Science from The Ohio State University in June 1953 and was a life-time member of the Alumni Association. On the Les Levine show, she was known as “Buckeye Jean”. Her Master of Arts Degree was earned at Teachers College, Columbia University in December 1959. She had post graduate studies at Western Reserve and Cleveland State Universities. Her professional career of 30 years with the Cleveland Board of Education included: Teacher of Physical Education, Student Council and Senior Class Advisor at John Hay High School; Guidance Counselor at John Adams High School, Assistant Principal at Rawlings Junior High School and John Hay High School. She served as Acting Principal at Jane Addams Vocational High School and Business Career Center until her retirement in June 1983. She loved the OSU fight song and Carmen Ohio. She was an avid sports fan. Jean loved to travel, fish, needlepoint and golf. Per her specific wishes, there will be no viewing or service, and burial will be private at West Park Cemetery. Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.  Arrangements by THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
