Janice Giering

JANICE A. GIERING (nee Potts), aged 87 years, beloved wife for 62 years to the late Wayne G., dear mother of Richard (of California) and the late LeeAnn, grandmother of Orion (of Arizona). Mrs. Giering was the Director of Communications for the Interchurch Council of Greater Cleveland, and served as host and producer of many church related broadcasts on radio, T.V., and cable. She was a life-long resident of Cleveland Heights.

She was formerly the President of the PTA at Oxford Elementary School and Monticello Junior High School. Janice’s positions in the communications industry included: Associate Director of the Interchurch Council of Greater Cleveland; President of the Cleveland Chapter of American Women in Radio and Television; Chair on the Board of Directors of Cleveland Community Access Corporation – Cablevision, Cleveland; Administrator for the Cleveland Chapter of The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and Chair of the Communications Committee of the Women’s City Club. She was the host of many programs on WJW-AM and WGAR-AM and also co-produced, wrote and directed numerous shows on COX Cable.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital, 11100 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44106.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the funeral home at 2:00 PM. Private interment in Acacia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Janice at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) on WEDNESDAY 1 PM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICE.
