Jim was born in Canton, Ohio on January 7, 1931 and passed away peacefully on August 1, 2021. He was a resident of Willoughby, and an active member of the Grace Woods Community at Breckenridge Village, for the past 11 years. Prior to that, Jim grew up in Canton, lived in Mayfield until his job took him to Rochester Hills, Michigan. After retiring he returned to the Cleveland area in 1992 to be near family. Jim was a 1949 graduate of Canton Central Catholic High School, and a 1953 graduate of John Carroll University. He was a first lieutenant in the US Army before becoming Treasurer of Leaseway Transportation. At his parish of St. Noel Catholic Church, he was an altar server for funerals. Jim enjoyed playing cards, especially Euchre and Hand and Foot. He also spent time playing golf and was a great virtual bowler. He was a Cleveland sports fan and loved to play Jeopardy with his children. Jim was a traveler and liked to go on road trips, always taking the scenic route. After retirement, he and his wife, Ceale spent winters in Tuscon, Arizona for many years. His family describes him as faith-filled, humble, loving, and a great friend. He was a content and patient man, with his own special sense of humor. Jim was always positive and compassionate, and never complained. He put others before himself, especially his wife Ceale.
