JAMES JUDE “JIMMY” MAZZOLA, age 45, of Mentor, loving father of Justin; beloved son of Jim and Judy (nee Vallo); devoted brother of Danny (Lisa) and Diana Tootell (Mason); dearest grandson of the late Frank & Margaret Vallo and James & Mildred Mazzola; dear nephew and cousin of many; cherished nephew and soul mate of Wendy Vallo Lewis (Bill) of Virginia Beach.

Jimmy passed away suddenly in his home on April 3, 2015 and is now at peace with Jesus and his beloved relatives who predeceased him.  Jimmy was born on November 21, 1969.  He graduated from Mayfield High School in 1988 and from Cleveland State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a minor in Social Work.  Jimmy worked as a licensed social worker for Cuyahoga County Family and Human Services for 18 years.  He was extremely devoted to the families and children he fostered and helped throughout his career and was recognized by Safe Alternatives for Families and Youth as Outstanding Child Advocate.  He also received numerous awards of excellence in honor of National Social Worker months.  He recently was employed at Deepwood Center.  Everyone who knew Jimmy loved him.  His compassionate, caring nature was witnessed by all who were fortunate enough to have Jimmy as a part of their lives.

Contributions made be made in Jimmy’s memory to The Justin Mazzola Fund.

Cremation by DeJohn Crematory.  Mass of Christian Burial Friday, April 10, 2015 at St. Paschal Baylon Catholic Church at 10 AM (please meet at church). Interment following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jimmy at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) THURSDAY 4-8 PM.
