JAMES A. “JIM” HOPKINS, age 68; beloved husband for 39 years of Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Haller); loving father of Jennifer Corrao (husband Frank), Patrick (wife Shelley), Jamie Villani (husband Mike), Paul, John David (wife Tara), and Samantha Luci (husband Nick); devoted grandfather of Emily, Bella, and Frankie Corrao, Parker and Olivia Hopkins, Grace, Jacob, Claire, and Victoria Villani, and Harper Hopkins; cherished son of the late John and Charlotte (nee Saylor) Hopkins; dearest brother of Richard, John (wife Jill), and Jody Scott (husband Jim); treasured son-in-law of John Haller; dear uncle and great-uncle of many.
Jim was born on June 3, 1954 and passed away on September 1, 2022. He was a graduate of Newbury High School, and was a resident of Mentor, previously of Kirtland. Jim was an active member and deacon of Calvary Assembly of God Church. Jim enjoyed mission work including trips to Alaska, Haiti and New Mexico. Most recently he and Jackie served for three years at a boy’s ranch in West Virginia as house parents. Jim also enjoyed serving and preaching at the City Mission and helped with repairs at Hannah’s Home. Jim was a retired die sinker for Wyman-Gordon Forgings. He especially enjoyed home projects and was very talented at working with his hands. Jim was a prayerful man who put his faith and family first. Jim’s favorite job was being his grandkids “Papa”. He was selfless and generous with his time and talents, and always focused on what he could do for others. Jim will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Celebration of Life Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11 AM at Calvary Assembly of God, 28870 Chardon Rd, Willoughby Hills. Private Burial at Mentor Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jim at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 4-8 PM and at THE CHURCH Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 10 AM until TIME OF SERVICE.
