JAMES J. WALSH age 90, former husband of Marilynne (nee Burgess); loving father of Jeffrey (wife Victoria), Susan and the late Jay (wife Eveline); devoted grandfather of Kevin and Keith; cherished son of the late Neil and Grayce (nee Royston); dearest brother of the late Robert (wife Margaret) and Mary Margaret Lybarger; dear uncle, great-uncle and friend of Bill W. U.S. Army Veteran.
James (Jim) was born December 15, 1927 in Cleveland and passed away February 1, 2018. He graduated from Shaw High School in 1946 and attended Miami University before being drafted to the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his discharge, Jim began his lifelong career as a sales engineer in the machine and cutting tool industry. Jim then eased into his retirement years by co-founding the Shaw Lunch Bunch, a quarterly social gathering that initially started with seven high school friends and grew to include over 500 Shaw High School alumni at its peak. He was a Big Band music enthusiast and had an encyclopedic memory of the era’s bandleaders, songs and lyrics. He was a world history buff but regaled sharing local Cleveland history and folklore. Family and friends were paramount to Jim. He will be dearly missed.
