James R. Henry

November 18, 1951 — March 18, 2024

JAMES ROBERT HENRY age 72, beloved husband of Anita (nee Mills) for 15 years; loving father of Jim, William, Scott (Kathryn) Dillen, and the late Meghan Dillen; devoted grandfather of Paige, Chase, and Zoe and great-grandfather of Phoenix; cherished son of the late Arthur and Eileen (nee Fought); dearest brother of Jack (Mary Ellen), Bill (Linda), and the late Jeffrey; dear uncle, great-uncle, and companion of his dog Sophie who passed before him.

James was born on November 18, 1951, in Cleveland, Ohio and spent most of his life in Cleveland Heights until moving to Shaker Heights in 2008. He attended St. Ann Catholic School and graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. Shortly after graduation from high school he began a career at Heinen’s. After taking a short break to own and operate Nichol’s Sporting Goods with his best friend Don, he returned to Heinen’s before retiring in 2021. After his two sons were raised, Jim met Anita. The relationship blossomed and the two complimented each other. Jim and Anita were blessed to have a perfectly blended family. The two bonded over their passion for renovating houses and serving as landlords to many homes. Jim also had a love for old cars and the restoration of bringing them back to their original form. On March 18, 2024, this kind, loving, and gentle man passed away leaving his family missing his humor and easy-going ways.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jim to the Alzheimer’s Association.
