James Harkins

JAMES LEONARD HARKINS, JR. Esq., aged 87 years, passed away July 27, 2017, beloved son of the late James L. Sr. and Dorothy (nee Wright), cherished brother of William W.W. Harkins (wife Elizabeth O’Neill Harkins). Jim, known affectionately as “The Hawk”, was an 87 year resident of Shaker Heights. He was a graduate of Shaker Heights High, Adelbert College, Western Reserve School of Law, and The Hague Netherlands Academy of International Law. Following his retirement as an attorney for the City of Cleveland, he worked as a controller for AMCLO Group Incorporated. Jim was a member of the Northern Ohio Opera League, Cleveland Chess Club, a contributor to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Animal Protective League. He was a National Champion in bridge, and a State of Ohio Champion in chess. He enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, travel, family and friends. His favorite music was opera, and he looked forward to his annual birthday party on Aug. 2^nd every year. Private burial in Scott Union Cemetery in Huron, OH. Arrangements are entrusted to THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID.
