JAMES STEPHEN “WHITEY” FICERE, 88, of Euclid, entered into eternal life, Sunday, October 9, 2016.
Born October 23, 1927 in Cleveland, OH, James was a WW II and Korea War Marine Corps veteran. Jim worked as a lineman for CEI First Energy and retired after 44 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and a Boy Scout for over 77 years. Jim enjoyed stamp collecting, flea markets and cooking. His family described him as serious with a great sense of humor that was always willing to help. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his children Kenneth (wife Marilyn), Catherine Geisinger (husband Jeffrey), Margarete Romero (husband Ralph), James (wife Joyce) and Mary Krivacic (husband Ronald); grandchildren Nichole Callahan (husband Dan), David Romero, Kristy Sauverain (husband Paco), Carley Kubasek (husband Stephen), Cassie Phillips (husband Corey), Margarete Romero, Melissa Krivacic, Amanda and Jessica (fiancé John Niton) Ficere, Janette Powell (husband Barnette) and 15 great-grandchildren; a sister Judith Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his wife Margaret “Marge” (nee Ference), his parents James P. and Elizabeth (nee Lehosky) Ficere, and a sister Florence Shaw.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 11 am at THE DEJOHN FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS. Burial following with Military Honors in All Souls Cemetery, Chardon, OH.
Family received friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jim on FRIDAY from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
