James Bucar (Jim) passed away peacefully to go home with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2016. Jim is proud alum of Shaw High School and Ohio University; he loved teaching Middle School Physical Education and Health. For over 39 years, many felt his humble and encouraging ways at Chagrin Falls Schools. Jim served with passion and dedication as a football and baseball coach at Chagrin Falls, and later, carried this love of coaching football to Wickliffe High School. He will be remembered by all with a baseball hat on, clipboard in hand, and a smile on his face.
Upon retirement, Jim worked for the Northeast Umpires Association as an Umpire as well as an Umpire Instructor and Scheduler. When Jim wasn’t generously giving to others, he could be found on the bocce courts or golf course enjoying the links. Highly cherished by Jim are his many life-long friends who always remembered to visit Jim and keep him “in-the-loop.”
Jim is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mary Ann (Pasqualone) Bucar and two daughters: Krista (Mike) (Clayton) and Jamie (Jamie). Jim enjoyed spending time with his grandsons, Domenic and Geno. He never wanted to miss any of their sporting events, and he loved them greatly, reminding them to always take the “straight path.” Jim dearly loved his younger brother, Frank (Karen) Bucar, his brothers and sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces and nephews who will also remember him as a loving, kind, and helpful man.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Bud Bucar, and Mary Ann’s parents, Guido and Mary Pasqualone.
