James Armstrong

JAMES L. ARMSTRONG age 83, beloved husband for 58 years of Carol (nee Jackson); loving father of Bradley (wife Janet), Gregory (wife Susan) and Susan Townsend (husband Ben); devoted grandfather of Nicole, Heath, Riley, Courtney, Ashley, Kelsey, Andrew, Travis, Joshua, step-grandfather of Jeri Lynn, Trey and great-grandfather of Colton, Elise and Hayes; cherished son of the late Wilbur and Elena (nee Lorenson); dearest brother of the late Joanne Armstrong; dear uncle and great-uncle of many. Survived by his canine companion Toby. U.S. Army Veteran.

James was born on December 24, 1933 and passed away on April 13, 2017. He was a 3 year resident of Chardon previously residing in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. James was a member of the DeMolay Club as a teenager and the Columbus Claims Club. He graduated from Johnstown High School in Johnstown, PA. James worked as an insurance claims manager for State Auto Insurance for 28 years. He loved his dogs and special buddy “Toby”. James enjoyed bowling, golf, reading, collecting model cars and listening to music from the 60’s and 70’s. He received the most enjoyment in life from his family, work and retirement years in South Carolina. James enjoyed playing with his grandchildren, Birthdays and holiday celebrations with his family. He was fun loving, friendly and outgoing. James will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
