Jahn Bosma

JAHN GRACLYN BOSMA (nee Ferguson) age 59, beloved wife for 40 years of William; loving mother of Jason and Mary (nee Miles) Bosma, Kristina (nee Bosma) and John Wilson, and Tony and Alexandra (nee Brady) Bosma; devoted grandmother of Nathan, Ian, Ivan, William, and soon to be granddaughter Sylvie; grandmother of grand-dogs Brutus, Maverick, and Murray; cherished daughter of the late Judith (nee Slocum) and Don (Mona) Taylor, and Jerry Ferguson; dearest sister of 9; sister-in-law of 7; dear aunt, great-aunt, and friend of many.

Jahn was born on September 18, 1962 in Jamestown, North Dakota, where she grew up and graduated from Wahpeton Sr. High School. On November 6, 1981 she married the love of her life, William, and together they built and raised a family in Chardon, Ohio, where they remained lifelong residents. Jahn graduated from Lakeland Community College and went on to proudly serve Middlefield Plastics for 30 years. She enjoyed tending to her garden, reading novels, and sewing and crocheting, especially scarfs. During the summer months she and her husband would spend time on their boat. Being on the lake meant she was looking for unique rocks and shells, or simply soaking up the warm sun. Her family was her world. She loved everyone so deeply and it was evident. On November 8, 2021 Jahn was finally at rest from her courageous 8-year battle with cancer. She was a fighter through and through. No matter how hard the day was she and William still managed to end their night with a movie together as they always had. Jahn was always more concerned about everyone else. She was the most selfless woman. Her love was beyond unconditional and her laugh contagious. Through all her struggles she continued to keep a genuine heart and lighten a room with her witty sense of humor, like her need to replay a card game so that she can win. Not a day goes by that Jahn is not missed, but there is comfort in knowing she is now at rest.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Jahn to St. Jude or OROC – Out Run Ovarian Cancer.
