JACQUELINE M. MAIHER (nee Whalley), aged 66 years, beloved wife for 46 years to John F., dearest mother of Jeffrey L. (wife Theresa), Jay G. (wife Lisa), and twins Jill V. Petty (husband Lt. Col. Rob., U.S.A.F.) and Jack M., loving grandmother of Joseph, Janelle, Sam, Kyle, Jeremy, Taylor, Gabriel and Robyn, devoted daughter of the late Victor G. and Helen M. (nee Pernush) Whalley, cherished sister of George Whalley (wife Gail), treasured aunt and grand-aunt to many.

Jackie was a 14 year resident of Chesterland, previously residing in South Euclid and Eastlake. She was a graduate of Brush High School, attended Kent State University, and was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Gates Mills. Jackie worked as an Executive Secretary for the Diamond “?? Alkali Corp. in Cleveland, a Parish Secretary at both St. Justin Martyr in Eastlake and Immaculate Conception in Willoughby, and was an excellent calligrapher. She belonged to the Western Reserve and the Coastal Calligrapher Guilds, and was a member of The Red Hat Society. Jackie was devoted to her family, especially the grandchildren. She was an avid reader, bridge player, did volunteer work for various organizations, was an accomplished cook and baker, had a strong Catholic faith, and loved traveling, especially her trips to Siesta Key, Florida.

The funeral Mass will be held on the same date and in the same Catholic Church where John and Jackie were married 46 years ago. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, October 19, 2009 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in All Souls Cemetery.

The family will receive friends to pay tribute and celebrate the life of Jackie at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just East of Green Rd.) on Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 2-6 PM.
