Jack Wong

JACK L. WONG, age 85, a 42-year resident of Richmond Heights, Ohio, passed away on May 26, 2017 at the Hospice of the Western Reserve surrounded by his family.

Jack was born on July 31, 1931 in China to the late Nee Foo and Yu Kam (nee Chan) Wong. He immigrated to the United States in 1952. Jack worked for Skidmore Gear Company as a gear cutter and retired after a 49 year career.

Jack spent his free time gardening, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was a long time member of the Cleveland Chinese Christian Church. His church was very important to him. Jack held a very high standard for his children and wanted only the best for them. Education was very important to him and all of his children graduated from college.

Jack is survived by his wife, Ngun (nee Chan) Wong, of 63 years; children Hundy S. Louie (husband Check) of Virginia, Susan F. Wong of New York, Guy L. Wong (wife Karen) of Columbus, Ohio, and John K. Wong (wife Stacy) of California; grandchildren Timothy Louie, Jennifer Louie, Michael Louie, Carolyn Louie, Stephanie Wong, Evan Wong and Merrick Wong.

Besides his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his siblings Ngu Gum, Chun Lai Wong and Jack D. Wong.

Funeral Service, Thursday, June 1, 2017, at 10 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial following at Crown Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Twinsburg, OH. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Jack at the DEJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME 28890 CHARDON RD., WILLOUGHBY HILLS (BETWEEN BISHOP RD AND RT. 91) on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, 3-5 and 6-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jack’s memory to the Cleveland Chinese Christian Church, 3224 Payne Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44114.
