Ivanka Stupica

IVANKA STUPICA (nee Tursic) age 90, passed away peacefully with family at her side on December 1,2021. Beloved wife of the late Dominik; loving mother of John (wife Natalie), Andrew, Dominik, Jr. (wife Emily), and Matthew (wife Melissa); devoted grandmother of Alison Tulak (husband Doug), Joseph (Lauren Levites), Samantha Simko (husband Matt), Jacob, Maya, Elizabeth, Dominik “Niko”, Anya and Luke; cherished daughter of the late Jozef and Terezija (nee Peterlin) Tursic; dearest sister of Joze Tursic (wife Cveta), Marija Zorman (husband Cyril, deceased), Andrej Tursic (wife Verona), Majda Smukavec (husband Mirko) and the late Vera Ivanc (husband Ivo, deceased), Alozija Pavlovec (husband Anton, deceased), Pepca Grebenc (husband Vinko, deceased) and Kristina Stanic (husband Pavle, deceased); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Ivanka was born on May 11, 1931 near Velike Lasce, Slovenia, she came to Cleveland from Slovenia in 1956 and moved to Euclid in 1979. Ivanka attended school in Slovenia and worked as a seamstress at GM, Fisher Body and Richmond Brothers. She was a parishioner of St. Vitus Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. Ivanka was a member of AMLA Lodge #4 and Slovenska Pristava Pensioners. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed knitting, crocheting, baking and cooking. Ivanka enjoyed traveling to Slovenia and vacationing. Spending time with her family gave Ivanka the most enjoyment in life. She was devoted to her family and her faith. Ivanka will be remembered most as a social, giving, selfless, generous, and hard-working woman who had a sense of humor. She was a woman of grace, strength and elegance and will be dearly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Ivanka to St. Vitus Building Fund.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, December 6, 2021 at 10 AM at St. Vitus Catholic Church 6019 Lausche Ave., Cleveland, OH 44103. Burial following at All Souls Cemetery. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Ivanka at THE ZEVNIK-COSIC FUNERAL HOME OF WILLOUGHBY HILLS, 28890 CHARDON ROAD (between Bishop Rd. and Rt. 91) SUNDAY 1-6 PM.
