ISABELLA RUPPE (nee Kollmann) age 90, beloved wife of the late Joseph; loving mother of Helga Boswell (husband Louis), Sylvia Stirsman (husband Lon), and Ingrid Ruppe; devoted grandmother of Sean, Nick, and the late Sam; cherished daughter of the late Martin and Theresia (nee Koch) Kollmann; dearest sister of Theresia Beer, Katharina Weikinger, Rosalia Berberich, Maria Munk, Anna Dullinger and the late Stefan Kollmann.
Isabella was born on November 23, 1931 in Yugoslavia before immigrating on her own to the United States. She met the love of her life, Joseph, at the German Central Farm in Parma, Ohio. They married soon after, and the two of them began their family.
Strong in her faith, she and Joseph, were devoted parishioners of St. Noel Catholic Church.
Isa was an exceptionally talented baker, seamstress, and knitter. She had the soul of an artist when it came to these things, and her creations were incredible.
Electronic Assembler was her profession. Her work assembling and soldering circuit boards for things like army tanks were praised for their neatness and precision. We are sure the men in the tanks were grateful!
She was as generous as she was kind and made sure you were always fed when you came for a visit. Her daughters were not permitted to leave her home without taking a homemade treat, chocolate or fruit with them.
Her concern for others was evident through large and small gestures; from nursing a sick relative, to making a small bouquet of flowers for a sad coworker.
Isa was also both a little stubborn and proud. Through the multiple surgeries she had in her lifetime, she did not want help. She was determined to do things herself. She also had a silly and funny side.
Our angel on earth lived her life for those she loved and on January 29, 2022 she was finally called to rest. She will forever be missed by her family and friends.
