IRENE RADAY (nee SZEMBORSKI), 98, of Burton, OH, entered into eternal life, surrounded by her family, Tuesday, September 27, 2016.

Born April 18, 1918 in Cleveland OH, and lived in Newburgh Heights. Irene attended school at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cleveland. She was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at St. John Nepomucene.  At St. Helen in Newbury, she was a member of The Legion of Mary.  She made rosaries for the Rosary Makers of St. Helen.

Irene was employed with Cleveland Twist Drill and was a cook for the Ferro Corporation. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing pinochle, doing word search puzzles, and watching the Cleveland Indians. Her family described her as hardworking, an excellent cook and very dedicated to Mary and Jesus.

Irene is survived by her children Dennis Raday, and Betty Jane Krofta;  grandchildren David Cejer, Deanna Cejer-Bravchok (husband Timothy), Cheryl Surrarrer, and Kristy Raday; great-grandchildren of Grant Schieber, Tony Vandal, Taylor and Jacob Surrarrer; great-great grandchildren Lilly Apostolakis; dear aunt and great-aunt of many; and fond companion to her canine Buffy.

Irene is preceded in death by her husband Steve D. Parents Boliswav and Stanislawa (nee Rozanska) Szemborski; siblings Joseph Szemborski, Jean Chmielewski, Connie Stroski, Lena Banisauckas, and Celia Glinski; and son-in-law Lawrence Krofta.

Mass of Christian Burial Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 10 am at St. Helen Catholic Church, Newbury. Burial following at St. Mary Cemetery, Cuyahoga Hts.

Family and friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Irene at St. Helen Church from 9-10am. ARRANGEMENTS BY THE DeJOHN Funeral Home & Crematory of Chardon (formerly Ritondaro).
