Irene M. Nocente

IRENE M. NOCENTE (nee Blewitt) age 93, beloved wife of the late Raymond A.; loving mother of Carol Ann Edgerton (husband Bruce) and Norman (wife Carla); devoted grandmother of Amanda Newbold (husband Robert), Lisa Churchill (husband Neil), Christopher, Lena Clark (husband Brian) and great-grandmother of Olivia Grace, Henry, Anthony, and Andrew; cherished daughter of the late Harold and Quennie (nee Bailey) Blewitt; dearest sister of Dorothy Bates (husband Morris, deceased), Betty Dickson (husband John), and the late Frank Blewitt, Thelma Orlowski (husband Johnny, deceased), Shirley Groom (husband Ken), and Marian MiGinnis (husband Jim); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.

Irene was born in England on April 3, 1926 and passed away December 4, 2019. After meeting her husband Raymond during World War II, Irene moved to the United States with him in 1945 and became a homemaker. She was active in the community, including VFW Marino-Piscopo Post 3799 in Lyndhurst, the American Legion Auxiliary, AARP, and the Little Retirees club. Irene was social and very likable, and she knew no strangers. She was a perfectionist but also had a great sense of humor, and she will be dearly missed.

Mass of Christian Burial Friday, December 13, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 6850 Mayfield Rd. at 10:30 AM. Entombment following at Knollwood Mausoleum. Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Irene at THE DeJOHN-FLYNN-MYLOTT FUNERAL HOME OF SOUTH EUCLID, 4600 MAYFIELD RD. (just east of Green Rd.) THURSDAY 3-5 & 6-8 PM.
